We have a very strong and friendly relationship with the families. It was hard to leave them. We were totally disconnected from Belgium and totally immersed in the life of the nomadic families… We took the time to be a bit “contemplative”, to go for long walks, to cook in a relaxed way with the mothers, to take naps, to draw as a family what we saw, to play with the young children, to ask lots of questions, … Finally, we went to the yurt districts on the outskirts of Ulan Bator, to get a good understanding of Mongolia today and the challenges facing pastoral nomadism… An extraordinary journey. Even the travelers we met in the hotel on our last day were fascinated by what we had experienced. In addition to the magnificent Mongolian steppes they’d seen, we’d experienced something very special with nomadic families they’d only met from afar at best. The Emotion Planet trip is truly an incredible opportunity and will remain something unforgettable for us!!!!
