From the moment we arrive, we are charmed by the hospitality of the Kyrgyz people. We feel at ease and ready to embark on the true adventure of discovering this faraway land. Sheltered by majestic mountains, the local population warmly shares a part of their daily life and deeply rooted traditions.
The nomads lead us on a path to an unshakable sense of freedom! We embrace a pace of life we had long forgotten and finally reconnect with what truly matters. Let’s immerse ourselves in an age-old way of life, deeply connected to unspoiled nature!
Day 1: Bishkek (Meals: B– ; transport: 40′)
Arrival in Bishkek: Welcome at the airport and transfer to our hotel. Depending on our arrival time, a city tour may be possible. Free time at the end of the day.
Day 2: Kyzyl Oy (Meals: BLD ; transport: 5h)
The adventure begins! After crossing the Too Ashuu Pass, we enter the Suusamyr Valley and head toward the untouched lands of the nomads. In the late afternoon, an off-road journey takes us to the village of Kyzyl-Oi, leading us deeper into these pristine nomadic territories. Lunch on the way, either in a roadside café or as a picnic. At the bottom of the valley, we follow trails that run alongside the Kokomeren River. Dinner and overnight stay in a rustic guesthouse.
Day 3: Son Kol (Meals: BLD ; transport: 4h)
The goal of the day is to reach the majestic Son Kol Lake. To get there, we cross an impressive mountain pass near the Kara Ketche coal mine. Once we arrive at our traditional yurt, we gently immerse ourselves in the life of Kyrgyz nomadic shepherds and spend the night in a shepherd’s yurt. (bedding on the floor, outdoor toilets, no shower).
Day 4: Son Kol (Meals: BLD ; transport: / )
We enjoy a free day around the lake, taking part in the daily tasks of the family. We help care for the livestock, go milk the cows, and try our hand at making “boorsoks,” Kyrgyz doughnuts, or preparing “kaymak,” a thick cream…
Day 5: Naryn (Meals: BLD ; transport: 3h)
Today, after crossing the Moldo Ashuu Pass (3,300 m), we reach the town of Naryn. This stop is perfect for a refreshing shower and a little rest from our adventures. After lunch, you can take a walk in the mountains or explore this small town. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lake and its pastures. Dinner and overnight stay in a guesthouse. (shared toilets).
Day 6: Kochtor-Kyzyl Tou (Meals: BLD ; transport: 3h)
Issyk Kul Lake, the pearl of the country, reveals some of its secrets. In the village of Kyzyk Tou, we spend two days immersed in the life of a local family specializing in yurt production. This unique craft has been passed down through generations! We share meals and spend the night with the family…
Day 7: Kyzyl Tou-Ak Say-Kyzyl Tou (Meals: BLD ; transport: 1h)
We learn more about yurt-making and the role of each family member. The women work with felt, creating the rugs and blankets needed for this nomadic dwelling, while the men prepare the yurt’s structure. In the afternoon, we hike to the Ak Say canyons…
Day 8: Tachtarata-Bokonbaevo (Meals: BLD ; walk at your own pace ; transport: 40′)
It’s time to say goodbye to our host family and head to the village of Bokonbaevo to begin our hike. We set off on a trekking day in the Tachtarata mountains, where we meet a true eagle hunter…
Day 9: Skazka-JetyOguz-Jyrgalan (Meals: BLD ; transport: 4h)
The Skazka Canyon, translated as “Fairy Tale,” is an astonishing place. We wander through it, enjoying a deep dive into nature while savoring a delicious picnic. We then head towards the Jety Oguz Gorge. The ochre cliff of the “Broken Heart” adds a romantic touch to this magical spot. Overnight stay with locals in the village of Jyrgalan.
Day 10: Jyrgalan (Meals: BLD ; walk at your own pace ; transport: /)
This morning, we set off on a hike around Trounalou Kol Lake. Along the way, we enjoy stunning panoramic views and a delicious picnic in the heart of nature. In the afternoon, we return to the village and have some free time to wander through the streets and connect with the locals. Dinner and overnight stay with a host family.
Day 11: Karakol (Meals: B– ; transport: 1h)
We visit the town of Karakol, exploring its Orthodox church and mosque. We wander through the town and stop at the Przhevalski Museum. We also have the chance to taste the most popular dish in traditional Dungan cuisine, “achlyan fou”…
Day 12: Karakol-Gorges Grigorievske and Semienovskoe-Tchon Kemin (Meals; BLD ; transport: 5h)
We head towards the Grigorievskoe and Semienovskoe Gorges, located on the northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake. We take our time, fully immersing ourselves in the wild nature. At the end of the day, we reach Tchon Kemin, Kyrgyzstan’s only national park. The landscapes here are stunning. Dinner and overnight stay with a host family.
Day 13: Bishkek (Meals: B– ; transport: 3h)
We head towards Bishkek, and along the way, we take the opportunity to visit the Burana Tower, a grand minaret in the Chuy Valley. The afternoon is free, giving us the chance to wander…
Day 14: Bishkek (Meals: BLD ; walk at your own pace ; transport: 40′)
Free time before our transfer to the airport to catch our return flight.
